Week 31 - Monday, April 14 through Thursday, April 17
Dear Memorial Parents and Guardians,
The snow is gone (mostly) and I'm left with the beautiful vista of brown grass and all of the leaves from the oak tree that didn't get raked up before the snow last year. I actually had a moment this weekend when I wished for the blanket of snow to once again cover the yard. But, I'm sure that is just me. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful spring weekend. I grew up in Missouri where spring lasted 15 minutes at the end of March before we rocketed into humid, 90-degree summer days. The gray, rainy spring days in Maine are a little different but I have found some comfort in the fact that it IS spring. After all, we can tell it is spring because the days are getting longer. That does mean it really is spring, right?!
But, I digress...
Last Friday night was our last school dance of the year. Thank you to all of the parents who chaperoned. As I have said before, your continued participation makes these events possible. Thank you.
The report cards for the 3rd quarter were sent home with students on Friday. Parents/guardians are asked to sign the report card envelope and have your child return the envelope to his/her homeroom teacher by Wednesday, April 16. The Student Recognition Assembly for the 3rd quarter will be held on Wednesday, April 30. The times for each assembly are listed below.
Practices for our spring sports will continue throughout the week. Games and meets will take place after students return from the spring break. Information about the games and meets will be included in upcoming parent newsletters.
Have a great week and a wonderful break. As always, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Megan Welter
